In May 2023, Prof. Rolf Hilgenfeld was awarded the Thomas-Fredenhagen-Prize for his exceptional scientific work and extraordinarily successful activities in knowledge and technology transfer and cooperations with industry partners. This prize particularly honors his work in solving the SARS-CoV-2 Mpro structure and towards developing inhibitors of this protease.
